Spring at 530 S. Milledge!
Updated: Jul 24, 2020
Spring has sprung in Athens and our sisters could not be happier to trade in our winter coats for sunshine and warmer days. From exciting date nights, sweet parent events, and our philanthropic endeavors, our members have made the most of this new season!

Week of Service Grand Total: over 500 hours!
For our annual Alpha Gam week of service, our philanthropy team set out with a chapter-wide goal of completing 500 community service hours in one week. We are excited to say our Gamma Alpha Chapter surpassed that goal, completed in just one week! Sisters contributed to their community by serving at the food bank, volunteering at the animal shelter, tutoring, participating in philanthropy organizations, and more. We look forward to seeing how our chapter can build upon this important work during the rest of this year!
Spring Events:
Formal
Formal is one of our sisters' favorite events and this year was no different! All of our members looked beautiful in their dresses and had a great time posing for fun pictures with their friends. The event took place at the historic and beautiful Taylor Grady house on Prince Avenue and it was the perfect venue for us to dance the night away! The live band kept us dancing all night long, even with several encores! A big thanks to Anna Kate Newall for planning this amazing event. We're already looking forward to next year!

Daddy Daughter Day!
Our dads had a blast at this year's Daddy Daughter Day! Trivia Tommy started the day with some fun questions that tested our knowledge and we ended the night with some yummy barbecue and live music at Saucehouse!
Braves Date Night!
Our members had a great time at the Braves game vs the Miami Marlins where the Braves won with a 4-0 shutout! We put on our best Braves apparel and cheered them on to victory! Not to mention the yummy stadium pizza and nachos! To top the night off we celebrated the win with fireworks at the stadium!

Spring Philanthropy: Kappa Sig and Alpha Gam Jam
Our spring philanthropy event is one of our biggest fundraising efforts that we as Alpha Gams put on each year. This year we hosted the event with a fraternity on campus, Kappa Sigma, and split the proceeds with their philanthropy, Military Heroes. Military Heroes is an organization that helps to provide care for military veterans and their families. Our portion of the proceeds went to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation which supports Meals on Wheels and Feeding America. Meals on Wheels works to feed food insecure elders through meal service programs and Feeding America contains a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries in an effort to reduce hunger in America. Kappa Sig and Alpha Gam Jam raised over $8,200 for these amazing organizations!
The event was at the Alpha Gamma Delta house and there was live music performed by Jacob Mallow, Cloudland, and our very own Aspen Countryman. We had a Saucehouse BBQ dinner on the lawn and ice cream from Lil Ice Cream Dude! We all had so much fun at the event and loved getting to share our philanthropy with others! We look forward to another great event next year and Mr. Milledge in the fall!
